Weekend Woes for Vancouver
To sum it up: Luongo shone, Sanford … not so much.
The result was the same, however, as the Canucks lost both games over the weekend. The first was a 3-1 defeat to the San Jose Sharks, while the second was a 5-0 drubbing by the Anaheim Ducks.
The key word in both these losses was injury, as Vancouver dressed a not-so-stellar line-up with up to 8 regulars injured. What is going on?
Don’t judge Vancouver’s season from their play this weekend please, because they are capable of producing a better product on the ice. Trust me.
Luongo managed to keep his team somewhat in it during the Sharks game, but apparently, 10 shots on net from his teammates doesn’t really help the offensive cause. Sanford, on the other hand, well, we know the story. Let’s just hope he doesn’t get the goaltending curse that has haunted so many past Canuck goalies.
Speaking of which, hey Cloutier, how’s the AHL?
Anyways, let’s hope for some better results with three preseason games remaining.
