Ever wondered what GSH stood for on the sleeve of the Chicago Bears’ uniforms?

The patch is to remember one of football’s most important person, George Stanley Halas.

Halas grew up in Chicago, went to the University of Illinois and in the early 1920’s, helped form the Chicago Bears.

He was an all-pro player, as both a defensive end and wide receiver, while owning the team. He would later lead the Bears to multiple championships as coach of the world famous “Monsters of the Midway.”
